The Gallimard family were among the precursors in Les Riceys and have been producing Champagne since 1930 when Jules and Ernest decided to produce their first bottles. The current owner, Didier, has a reputation for producing well-balanced Champagne, thanks to hillside vineyards which benefit from exceptional sun exposure. In the impressive 17th centuryvaulted cellars, Didier has decided to «revert to wood» to produce new vintage cuvées matured in oak barrels. The result has been a resounding success, with the Quintessence cuvée receiving a silver medal in the 2012 competition for the world’s best Champagne. This exceptional quality is also displayed in their five Champagne cuvées and Rosé des Riceys.
